Jason believes that most every business problem has a possible solution and that with communication and understanding legal and business will successfully coexist. He has spent his career asking “why” and striving to provide strategic and creative solutions that balance risks with the business' opportunities and needs to arrive at innovative, scalable solutions.  Jason has 25+ years of experience (12 as an associate and partner at major US firms and 14 as a General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer (8 of those at a public company).  He takes each opportunity to learn how to be a better strategic partner and advise on taking thoughtful, calculated risks.  As a General Counsel and Compliance Officer, he has focused primarily on highly regulated industries (lending, mortgage, real estate investing, insurance) in both the private and public markets. Since 2009, Jason has led private debt and equity fundings in excess of $400m, $750m in private fund capitalization, over $6b in consumer and business lending, and over $1B in public equity capital, in addition to a variety of strategic acquisitions.  Jason won the 2014 General Counsel of the Year - SF Business Times/Silicon Valley Business Times.
