Matthieu Hausig has extensive experience in patent litigation, patent portfolio management and patent counseling. He is an experienced litigator who has represented clients before the U.S. International Trade Commission, The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board, district courts and arbitrations in disputes covering diverse technical fields such as medical devices, digital printing presses and microprocessor design.
In the area of patent counseling, Matthieu has substantial experience in advising clients with regard to product and patent portfolio development. Within the context of their business plans, he advises clients on which patents are the most valuable, offensive and defensive prosecution strategies, and international protection. He works with clients at the design phase to identify roadblocks and business opportunities. He is also experienced in assessing the patent portfolios and product lines of third parties, and negotiating licensing, acquisitions, joint development agreements and indemnification provisions.
