Stephanie advises technology and entertainment companies in the areas of marketing, advertising, commercial transactions, and product counseling. Her marketing and advertising practice focuses on issues including the prepublication review of marketing and advertising claims and their substantiation, brand marketing campaigns, social media influencer campaigns, testimonials and endorsements, sponsorships, joint promotions, referral programs, contests and sweepstakes, and the application of laws governing rights of publicity, intellectual property, privacy, and consumer protection (including FTC Section 5 matters, FTC endorsement and disclosure guides, and marketing-related FCC compliance). She also helps companies structure and negotiate agreements with photographers, videographers, models, musicians, social media influencers, and agencies.
In her technology practice, she reviews company products for UI/UX design and compliance issues in preparation for commercial launch, including review of open source issues. In addition, she helps companies structure and negotiate complex commercial transactions, including software licensing agreements, software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreements, software and hardware product development agreements, professional services agreements, and reseller and distributor agreements.
